Special orders
Some of my jewelry designs can be adapted to suit customer preferences for type of metal
(e.g., sterling silver or gold-filled wire, yellow gold wire or rose gold wire); type, color, cut and quality
of stone; length, etc. I also sometimes work with clients to help them realize a design idea they have imagined.
If you wish to discuss the possibility of making a special order, please contact me.
Full-satisfaction guarantee
Each piece of my jewelry comes with a full-satisfaction guarantee.
If, in the course of normal wear, a problem arises with one of my jewelry items,
I will correct it to your satisfaction, or, alternatively, you may exchange the item for another one or
receive a full refund on it (minus postage costs, if relevant).
Repairs
Should you inadvertently damage a piece of my jewelry or lose part of a set, please contact me to see
if I can repair it or replace it for a fee.
Taking care of Diana Shye Jewelry:
Storage:
My jewelry should be stored in its box or another container to avoid exposure to air and moisture.
Hand-crocheted and hand-woven chains are delicate; therefore, avoid folding, bending or crushing them.
All silver jewelry will eventually tarnish on exposure to air. Tarnishing can be slowed by placing silver
jewelry in an air-tight plastic bag together with a small piece of chalk (to absorb moisture).
Cleaning:
Sterling silver jewelry can be cleaned by placing it in an aluminum pie tin or a small heat-proof bowl lined
with aluminum foil (shiny side up) to which you have added 2-3 inches of boiling water, 1-2 tablespoons of salt
and 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda. After a few minutes, remove, rinse well, and dry thoroughly with a hair dryer.
(Do not use this method on jewelry that contains pearls, turquoise, amber, opals, coral, or other soft
stones—it will damage their sheen.)
Gold-filled jewelry will usually need little cleaning, but you should remove accumulated body oils and cosmetic
residues from time to time by immersing it briefly in a small bowl of hot water with a drop of dish detergent.
Brush gently with an old soft toothbrush if needed. Rinse well and dry with a hair dryer.
